The Aims of the Unit:
There are two foci for this Unit:
A- Examining the role of a scriptwriter
What do they do? Who do they work with? What skills do they need? What are their legal responsibilities? What are their ethical responsibilities?
B- Examining script-writing formats and conventions for different products
How do I create a the right script for the right audience, format and audience?
The main aim:
In tandem with your other Units, you will be able to write an appropriate script for a film, and then produce that film using stop motion and recording/editing software to make that film.
Assignments:
Assignment 1:
Task One: Writing a report or portfolio on the job of a scriptwriter
Task Two: Writing a report or portfolio detailing the different conventions of different scripts for different markets/audiences
Assignment 2:
Writing a short script to be realised through stop motion (U23)
